Our mission: "As simple as possible but no simpler"

To the outsider (and to many Irish people!) the history of our island might seem complex. So too is nuclear physics. Yet Albert Einstein - who knew a thing or two about that - was of the view that no concept was too complex to be understood by a wider public - provided it was properly explained. 'As simple as possible but no simpler' was his approach, not 'dumbing down'.

We at Historical Insights are dedicated to the view that historical scholarship is not incompatible with a witty, pithy, entertaining presentation. Not only are our guides history graduates engaged in ongoing research as well as second and third level teaching, but they also have experience in TV, radio, writing and magazine publication. Communicating (and entertaining) is what we do. Our "greatest hits tour" of Dublin is a walk through the defining events and monuments of the city. Few cities wear its history on its sleeve like Dublin does...

'Tours with this award-winning outfit are like 2-hour primers on Dublin's historic landmarks, from medieval walls and Viking remains around Wood Quay, to the architectural splendors of Georgian Dublin, to highlights of Irish history.'
